>As well as gaining a stablemate in Modwave, Korgs 2020 Wavestate is being given the premium. As I mentioned in another thread, Korg should build this type of synth with a panel full of knobs, with the synth engines of opsix, wavestate and modwave, and perhaps extend some of the features + larger screen in the 1.5-2k price range to compete with Roland System-8 / JD-XA and some others. Wavestate SE adds aftertouch and a 61-note keyboard. Sure, but it is still a waste of empty panel space. One could argue that other manufacturers have also used the same idea to cut costs (Access, Novation and EMU come to mind) and they work just fine. Development costs have been very low, since they use the exact same panel layout (and as a result, all the same PCBs etc.) than the original 3 oct version, just the chassis has been enlarged to fit the 5 oct keybed. I understand that they are testing waters with this version. However, this is definitely in the right direction in development. Look at all that empty panel space.I was thinking the same. I can't imagine what the reason for this might be, but I. This is transmitted within a range of 1-64 and, while it's received within the full range of 0-127, the incoming value is clipped at 64. The first is the Wavestate's implementation of MIDI Release Velocity. Ahead of the 2021 NAMM Show, Korg has shared a sneak preview of the Wavestate SE a new edition of the Wavestate that offers a 61-note keyboard with aftertouch and a more premium build.

Even the controls have the same location!. Now we come to a small number of issues that I would like to raise with Korg. It's the same wavestate panel with 61 keyboard simply replacing the 37.
